SECOND OPINION:
Medical Report for Health Protection
The written “Second Opinion” is dedicated to PATIENTS RESIDING OUTSIDE ITALY who can obtain it without having to leave their country of origin.
The Second Opinion will concern neurosurgical pathologies.
Once the bureaucratic procedures are completed, the written Second Opinion will be available within one or two weeks; no telephone or video contacts are foreseen.
Limits and advantages of the written Second Opinion
The written Second Opinion can serve in particular as a screening to collect information and identify patients who may have an indication to undergo a neurosurgical outpatient visit to confirm the diagnosis and evaluate the possibility of surgical therapy.
It should be kept well in mind that in the majority of cases, the data obtained from the outpatient medical visit are those that complete the evaluation of the clinical case and allow for conclusive diagnostic and therapeutic opinions.
During the neurosurgical outpatient visit, it may be found necessary to complete the diagnosis with appropriate further tests.
After undergoing the required tests, the patient can choose whether to return for a subsequent outpatient visit or to send the reports and images of the required tests by mail or via the internet.

By submitting your request, you accept our prices, terms and conditions described below.
These terms and conditions are subject to change at the discretion of Dr. VERONESI.
We strongly recommend that you reread them periodically as you must comply with any changes made to the terms and conditions up to the day you request a Written Second Opinion.
Transmission and storage of information
When you request a Written Second Opinion, you consent to your medical reports / radiological images being stored in Dr. VERONESI's information system.
You agree that the Written Second Opinion report will be sent to you by e-mail and you are aware of the risk that e-mail communications may be insecure.
Personal data
The patient is aware that any personal information provided on the online form, by e-mail or by mail will be used solely to respond to their request for a Written Second Opinion. This information will be stored confidentially on Dr. Vanni VERONESI's personal computer. The data will not be transferred to third parties unless requested by the patient or by law.
DESCRIPTION, RULES AND PRICE
When the doctor provides a written Second Opinion via the web, they are not aware of your physical condition and of some information that can only be obtained through an in-person medical examination at the clinic.
This limitation may affect the doctor's opinion regarding diagnosis and treatment.
Therefore, the recommendations must be shared with your primary care physician to minimize potential health risks.
When you agree to use our service, you acknowledge this limitation and accept the associated risk.
Consequently, the patient is aware that the requested Second Opinion is provided based on the reports and medical records that are supplied and accepts that Dr. VERONESI cannot assume any responsibility for the quality and content of these external documents.
When you request a written Second Opinion, you consent that:
· The evaluation of your case will be written in the Second Opinion report that will be sent via email in pdf format;
· The Second Opinion will be based on the answers to the questionnaire that will be sent to you, on the previous medical reports you have provided, and on the radiological images that could be evaluated;
· The Second Opinion is informative and is not intended to replace a complete medical evaluation or an in-person visit with a doctor;
· The Second Opinion does not provide relevant information usually obtained during an outpatient examination, thus limiting the diagnosis of a condition, disease, or injury;
· The patient will also send the recommendations resulting from the written Second Opinion to their referring physician.
This service is subject to Italian law.
To obtain a written Second Opinion, follow these steps:
1. Fill out the request form. You will receive the questionnaire, instructions on how to send the medical documentation, and the invoice which can only be paid by bank transfer;
2. If the symptoms have not changed, neuroradiological exams (MRI, CT, and X-rays) can be considered valid and evaluated if performed up to 6 months before the request for a second opinion. If the symptoms have changed, new updated tests are required;
3. Dr. VERONESI will provide you with the written Second Opinion within one or two weeks.
4. The transfer of neuroradiological images (X-ray, CT, and MRI) is possible via the web or by sending a copy of the CDs to the following address:

5. If after some time you have further questions and send additional documents not requested during the first evaluation for the previous written Second Opinion, the procedure will need to be repeated.
6. The written Second Opinion will be in English;
7. The cost of the written Second Opinion is €502.
